Singapore Currency
The currency of Singapore is called as Singapore Dollar or abbreviated as SGD. Similarly to US currency, Singapore currency also involves with notes and coins which is divided into 100 cents. Note are in denominations of 2, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1,000 and 10,000 while Singapore coins are values into 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 cents.
Major credit cards are widely accepted in many shops, hotels, and restaurant while cash of other major currency such as US and Australian dollars, Yen, and British Pounds will only be accepted in larger shopping malls. ATMs and banks usually operate everywhere with advance distribution. However, traveler’s cheques can only be cashed out at banks or certain moneychangers.
